Marcia is thrilled to be back in real estate sales. She can’t think of a better place to be than Thomasville and she wants to put her decades of experience to work for you. Growing up on a farm in Lee County, Georgia, Marcia has an affinity for agriculture. Owning and operating a chain of temporary help employment agencies in North Georgia in the past, Marcia knows how to start up, operate and grow a successful business with hundreds of employees.

Serving in the real estate industry for years, Marcia has worked as a real estate loan originator, paralegal and a title abstractor. She knows how to pay attention to detail when it HAS to be right.

Marcia understands the frustration YOU may feel as a property owner or seller, builder, buyer or business owner. Working as the Lee County (Ga) Zoning Administrator, she reviewed construction and subdivision development plans as well as business license applications for compliance with local, state and federal code and regulations. She ascertained client’s proposed uses and assisted throughout the application process (including rezoning petitions, staff review and recommendations and presentation to governing authority for a vote on approval).

Marcia held a national Floodplain Manager’s certification and a Georgia State Soil and Water Conservation Inspector’s license. She has worked as a Planner for the City of Albany, Georgia and was awarded competitive grants written for both municipalities for flood properties, disaster relief, recreational trails, food deserts and Brownfields. Marcia retired from city/county government in 2020 and moved to Pavo, Georgia when she married Bobby Hancock. Bobby is a Georgia Power Company retiree and the new mayor of Pavo. She has a son, Shane Farmer (wife Laney) in Roswell and Bobby has a son, Thomas Hancock (wife Holly). They are members of Dillon Road Presbyterian Church in Thomasville, the Pavo Civic Club and Georgia Power Ambassadors (retirement group). They love to travel, cruise and fish. They keep a fifth wheel in Eastpoint (Fl) for snapper fishing, ride a Spyder three-wheeler and just tried their first zipline experience (over Niagara Falls). Marcia enjoys sewing, making jewelry and cooking. She also loves to sell real estate.

She was originally licensed in Florida in 1979 and Georgia in 1980. Marcia has just obtained her Georgia real estate license (again) in June, 2024 and plans to re-license in Florida in the near future.

“I want to put this wealth of knowledge and experience to work for you. Thomasville and the surrounding area offer unique opportunities to you as a property or business owner (old and new) and for me as a Realtor. Let me help you navigate. Let me work for you.”
